DescriptionFirst race meeting conducted by the Sunshine Coast Turf Club at Corbould Park, Caloundra, 25th July 1985. Land on Caloundra Road owned by grazier Edward Corbould was recommended in December 1978 as a potential area for the Landsborough Shire Council to establish a racecourse. A contract was signed on 4 February 1980 giving the Landsborough Shire Council a fifty year lease of the land. Clearing of the site commenced in August 1981 and all construction was completed during July 1984. On the opening day in July 1985, seven races were held. The first horse ever to win at Corbould Park was Mister Omega ridden by Ron Quinton in the H E Corbould Transition Handicap. The crowd attendance was 14,000 people with 1,198 members.
